We have 3 Nos licensed slipways, one slipway of size 70MtrsX15Mtrs is having 4 track rail, split type cradle capable of hauling up vessels up to 400 Ton displacement. Other slipways are 40MtrsX10 Mtrs and 40MtrsX15Mtrs where we are hauling up vessels by conventional method using wooden sleepers, steel rollers and capstan.
In the absence of own dry dock the SBSL is presently utilizing the dry dock facility of CPT on request subject to availability. Cochin Port has a dry dock 66MtrsX12.5MtrsX6Mtrs of size.
We have also an understanding with Goa Shipyard Ltd for dry docking the vessels up to 120 metre length.
The Yard has got a wharf of about 200m length, suitable for berthing and launching of medium sized vessels having draft of about 6M.
Presently we have two 14 Ton capacity Hydraulic mobile crane. Besides we also have a gantry of lifting capacity up to 15 Tons
Besides KSEB power we have a 11 Kv/433V power station with 500 KVA capacity and two diesel generators as per below specifications:
- 125 KVA 440V – 230V – 50 cycle
- 62.5 KVA 440V – 230V – 50 cycle
We have two multipurpose tug boats of the following specifications:
- Sea Blue I - 18 X 5.5 X 2.4 Mtr twin screw 3 Ton bollard pull tug boat
- Sea Blue II - 17.5 X 5.5 X 3 Mtr single screw tug boat
We have three numbers of fabrication skids as per the following sizes
- 15 X 18M size – 1 No
- 15 X 6M size – 1 No
- 12 X 6M size – 1 No
We have a well equipped electrical work shop in our yard, including all electrical measuring equipments and working tools. And we have a diesel fired baking oven of size: 2 X 2 X 1.5M to bake motors and alternators up to 1000 Kw. capacity
Our mechanical shop have all facilities including Lathes, Radial Drilling Machines, Boiler tube extraction and installation kit, Band saw cutting machine, Pressure testing rig, Air compressor, and all mechanical related machineries.
We have well experienced highly skilled carpenters. We have successfully carried out Teak wood deck sheathing & other carpentry works of INS Tharangini (Prestigious vessel of Indian Navy) on three occasions.
